About FrontPorch

Social media. On your terms.

A more intentional place to connect.

FrontPorch is an independent social networking project built around meaningful connections, chronological feeds and personal control. It begins with a familiar idea: a front porch is somewhere you can catch up, share what is happening and make room for a conversation.

Online, that means showing recent posts in order, keeping mutual friendships separate from public audiences, and giving people clear choices about whom they share with.

Start with people you know.

My Porch supports accepted friendships, Personal Crowds, text and photo posts, comments and reactions. Personal posts stay within their chosen audience of current friends. Members can block people and report eligible posts and comments.

We are also building toward Town Hall for political and government public accounts, Main Street for other public identities, and Community Crowds for shared interests. Those spaces are not open yet. Native mobile apps and video posting are not currently offered.

Clear choices, fewer mysteries.

FrontPorch uses newest-first feeds, without engagement-based ranking. Members choose their connections and personal post audiences. Accounts and essential social networking features will always be free, and personal data is never sold.
